Punchlines is a 1v1 word fighting game made by Keeda Studios ("we", "us"). This policy says what we collect, why, and how to delete it. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
- A random account ID. The app signs you in anonymously with Firebase Authentication. We do not ask for your email, phone number or real name.
- Your fighter profile: the fighter name and emoji you pick, and the outfit you wear. Your rival sees these during a fight.
- Fight records: the fight code, the two fighters' names, emoji and outfits, the letter grid, the words played, the health bars and the result. The server needs these to run the fight and decide the winner.
- Your fight history and record: after each fight, a short summary (who you fought, the result, the score, your best word and the karma it paid), your totals (fights, wins, K.O.s, streaks) and your record against each rival. Only you see your history.
- Leaderboards: your fighter name, emoji and number of wins are shown on the public leaderboards to other players.
- Your arenas: the groups of friends you make or join (with an invite link or code, or when a member you fought adds you). Each arena stores its name, its members' fighter names and emojis, and who is in its ring. Members of an arena can see when you were last in the app and when you step into its ring.
- A presence signal: during a live fight, the app tells the server every few seconds that you are still there, so a rival who leaves can be detected.
- Purchases: when you tip, Apple or Google process the payment and RevenueCat confirms it to us, so we can add your karma. RevenueCat knows your anonymous player ID and what you bought. We never see your card details.
- Notifications: if you allow notifications, we store your phone's push token so we can tell you when a friend challenges you, steps into an arena's ring, joins an arena you made or adds you to one, and when you win a weekly prize. Turn notifications off at any time in your phone's settings.
Settings such as sound, vibration and your chosen skins stay on your device.
What we do not do
- No ads and no advertising trackers.
- No selling or renting of your data.
- No access to your contacts, photos, location, camera or microphone.
Who processes it
We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Hosting), with servers in the United States, to run the game. RevenueCat, Inc. (United States) confirms purchases for us. Apple and Google process purchases under their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
The fight itself (the grid, the moves, the health bars) is deleted automatically 30 days after the fight. Your fighter profile, fight history, record, leaderboard totals and arenas stay until you delete your data.
Delete your data
In the app, open Settings → Delete my data. This deletes your fighter profile, fight history, record, leaderboard totals and account at once, takes you out of every arena, and replaces your name and emoji with "Deleted fighter" in other players' fight history. The fights themselves are removed within 30 days. You can also email support@keedastudios.com from the device's mail app and include your fighter name; we will delete your data within 30 days.
Children
Punchlines is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA), you can ask to see, correct or delete your data. Email us and we will answer within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
